Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ian Odén, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Lautaro Mancebo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Takis Zafiriou was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Takis Zafiriou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 44th minute of the match. Ian Odén's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Mexico were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Arvidsjaur FF's Takis Zafiriou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 51st minute of play. The referee ignored Arvidsjaur FF's protests and gave Josef Tinglöv a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mexico booed when Arvidsjaur FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josef Tinglöv didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle sounded Mexico left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Arvidsjaur FF.
