Hannes Hedström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Anfield Road's Brian Thorsberg. But to his dismay, Brian Thorsberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Hannes Hedström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Eliseo Noboa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 12th minute, Anfield Road's Brian Thorsberg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Hannes Hedström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Kristian Runeberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Anfield Road's Roger Abrahamsson seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Roger Abrahamsson the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Anfield Road protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Roger Abrahamsson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After a rather tough play, Anfield Road's Roger Abrahamsson got a free kick in the 20th minute. After 21 played minutes, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Adrian Wennerström came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Costa Rica reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 25th minute of play forced Anfield Road's goalkeeper Adrian Wennerström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Hannes Hedström dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 4-0. 30 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Mattias Snell came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Axel Tasis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Costa Rica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mattias Snell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute, Lautaro Puig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 39th match minute, Anfield Road was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hannes Hedström to maneuver through the defense.
The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. Adrian Wennerström made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Lautaro Puig sent off a good shot on target. Anfield Road's Adrian Wennerström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 56th minute of play. Brian Thorsberg kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the game, Efrain Moruga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Anfield Road the free kick. The supporters of Anfield Road booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the game, Karl-Axel Telin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Anfield Road's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Anfield Road was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl-Axel Telin didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Anfield Road's Adrian Wennerström got control of the ball when Lautaro Puig tried to sneak it across the goal line. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hubert Hammarbäck in the 72nd minute of the match. If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Hannes Hedström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Adrian Wennerström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. If Axel Tasis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Anfield Road players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
