An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitinho Diniz in the 2nd minute of play forced Ballybunion Celtic F.C.'s goalkeeper Jânio de Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 2 minutes into the match, Vitinho Diniz notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Ballybunion Celtic F.C.'s Jânio de Barros. Jânio de Barros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Doctor Quinn got free with Roman Rollins in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 21st minute J.C. Ogden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jânio de Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jânio de Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rich Jean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Boca Juniors's Rich Jean managed to work through Ballybunion Celtic F.C.'s defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Rich Jean dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Jânio de Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from J.C. Ogden in the 26th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers J.C. Ogden in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jânio de Barros saved Ballybunion Celtic F.C. from getting behind. After some careless play in the Boca Juniors defense, Doctor Quinn kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roman Rollins. The Boca Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roman Rollins should have stopped the shot. In the 40th minute Ahmet Kadri Uğurtay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Rollins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, Ballybunion Celtic F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when J.C. Ogden came free, but Jânio de Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

A nice corner shot did that Ahmet Kadri Uğurtay got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Roman Rollins quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some careless play in the Boca Juniors defense, Doctor Quinn kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roman Rollins. The Boca Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roman Rollins should have stopped the shot. Boca Juniors's Neil Kemp was substituted for Vitinho Diniz. Doctor Quinn scored 4-1 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Roman Rollins, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 75th minute Doctor Quinn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Rollins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the game, Doctor Quinn cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Roman Rollins was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Boca Juniors's Shelby Cruz was substituted for Jason Stuart. Boca Juniors's Cyryl Karpinski was substituted for J.C. Ogden. Boca Juniors's Roman Rollins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doctor Quinn in the 84th minute of play. When Walmyr Lopes fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballybunion Celtic F.C.'s protests and gave Walmyr Lopes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 86th minute, Walmyr Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ballybunion Celtic F.C.'s Jânio de Barros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Ballybunion Celtic F.C. from getting a goal against them. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ballybunion Celtic F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Boca Juniors had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
