Twierdza Osowiec's Ricardo Hendrickx played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tom Rits in the 16th minute of play. In the 19th minute of the match Twierdza Osowiec got a corner. Royal Antwerp FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jaap Stam ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Twierdza Osowiec's corner Jaap Stam fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Bart-Jan Van De Beeck quite easily take care of the ball. The audience was convinced that Kartal Başar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bart-Jan Van De Beeck was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. With a left leg Bart-Jan Van De Beeck saved Royal Antwerp FC from getting behind. After having played for 90 minutes, Kartal Başar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Twierdza Osowiec's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kartal Başar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Many of Royal Antwerp FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Royal Antwerp FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Twierdza Osowiec were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
