Magallanes's Tomás Las Casas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Navarro Escalona in the 29th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Resistencia Tayrona FC's Refugio Izaga got a free kick in the 31st minute. If Filipo Paut had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 34th minute, Magallanes's Vladimiro Leroy seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Vladimiro Leroy the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Magallanes protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Vladimiro Leroy had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Enrique Caldero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilio Formoso in the 40th minute of play. Enrique Caldero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hipolito Fritz in the 41st minute of the match. With a little luck, Magallanes's Tomás Las Casas got control of the ball when Navarro Escalona tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hipolito Fritz in the 45th minute of play forced Resistencia Tayrona FC's goalkeeper Enrique Caldero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 48 minutes into the match, Resistencia Tayrona FC's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Formoso came free, but Enrique Caldero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After 55 minutes, Bortzaioriz Cervantes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Resistencia Tayrona FC and the Magallanes players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55th match minute, Resistencia Tayrona FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bortzaioriz Cervantes to maneuver through the defense. In the 56th minute, Filipo Paut sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Resistencia Tayrona FC's Enrique Caldero didn't even have to move. After 71 played minutes Magallanes got a freekick which was hit by Gonzalo Perl. An unexpectedly hard shot by Navarro Escalona in the 74th minute of play forced Magallanes's goalkeeper Tomás Las Casas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hipolito Fritz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Caldero having to interfere. Tomás Las Casas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saverio Astete in the 82nd minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Resistencia Tayrona FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hipolito Fritz came free, but Enrique Caldero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 87 minutes had been played when some careless play by Resistencia Tayrona FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Filipo Paut was slow to take the kick. During this time Magallanes's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Magallanes's corner Filipo Paut fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Enrique Caldero quite easily take care of the ball. In the 90th match minute, Resistencia Tayrona FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santxo Bango to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute, Navarro Escalona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Resistencia Tayrona FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Resistencia Tayrona FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
