In the 10th minute Dawid Czempa suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 10 minutes into the game, Emilio Formoso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Magallanes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CAFE FUTBOL TCZEW the free kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luis Aravena in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dariusz Jaroszewicz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tomás Las Casas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alan Butler in the 15th minute of play. If Emilio Formoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18thth minute of the game Luis Aravena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CAFE FUTBOL TCZEW's Dariusz Jaroszewicz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. CAFE FUTBOL TCZEW's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Selmo Scholtzl ran over to the corner to take the kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Alan Butler got free with Tomás Las Casas in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
