The referee ignored Maverick Futebol Clube's protests and gave Fernandinho Sarmento a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Inter de Melão booed when Maverick Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernandinho Sarmento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernani Dias, 15 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to Inter de Melão getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Filipe Carioca hit a great ball. Caio dos Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Márcio Nóbrega, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maverick Futebol Clube's Oséas Botelho got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Márcio Nóbrega kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. With his leg Marcinho Marques managed to avoid a goal in the 27thth minute, when Maverick Futebol Clube's Sérgio Dante fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 30th minute, Maverick Futebol Clube's Oséas Botelho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcinho Marques. Marcinho Marques yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 33 minutes into the match, Inter de Melão's Zeca de Sena sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Caio dos Santos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 37 played minutes Maverick Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Silvério Almeida. In the 42nd minute, Falcão Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Caio dos Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristóvão da Costa in the 55th minute of the match. Maverick Futebol Clube's Caio dos Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeca de Sena in the 57th minute of play. Raimundo Abraão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Marcinho Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcinho Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percival Marinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luizão Custódio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Caio dos Santos made a huge save. In the 69th minute, Ernani Dias reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Caio dos Santos. The goal made the score 1-1. After 75 played minutes Inter de Melão got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Carioca. After a defensive mix-up in Inter de Melão's zone, Raimundo Abraão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcinho Marques came out of the goal and Raimundo Abraão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Inter de Melão's Marcinho Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio Dante in the 80th minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Inter de Melão's goal looked a bit too open when Oséas Botelho came free, but Marcinho Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcinho Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percival Marinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Inter de Melão players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
