The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Toren Potterman made a precise shot to the right of Marcinho Marques. Inter de Melão's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The audience was convinced that Reuven Speyer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcinho Marques was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. When Gualter Cerezo fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Inter de Melão's protests and gave Gualter Cerezo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of G.R. booed when Inter de Melão was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeca de Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, G.R.'s Gershon Uzan got a free kick in the 16th minute. Luizão Custódio took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rozen Lipsky. Marcinho Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reuven Speyer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristóvão da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 43 minutes, Falcão Aguiar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Inter de Melão and the G.R. players grew even worse after the yellow card. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zeca de Sena was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in G.R.'s zone, Cristóvão da Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rozen Lipsky came out of the goal and Cristóvão da Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jankel Veneziani during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to G.R. getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Jankel Veneziani hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute, Ernani Dias sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and G.R.'s Rozen Lipsky didn't even have to move. Marcinho Marques made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Jankel Veneziani sent off a good shot on target. 66 minutes into the match, Inter de Melão's goal looked a bit too open when Jankel Veneziani came free, but Marcinho Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th match minute, G.R. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reuven Speyer to maneuver through the defense. During the 69th minute of the match Gualter Cerezo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. Marcinho Marques made an important save on a dangerous shot by Toren Potterman in the 76th minute. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Inter de Melão's goalkeeper Marcinho Marques, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. G.R.'s Lavan Ziton got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 84 played minutes Inter de Melão got a freekick which was hit by Geovani Motta. After having played for 86 minutes, Toren Potterman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. G.R.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Toren Potterman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
