In the 14th minute Pocho Lavezzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edinho Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edinho Paraíba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pocho Lavezzi in the 18th minute of the match. Vinícius Haaland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pocho Lavezzi took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edinho Paraíba. Edinho Paraíba dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 27 minutes into the match, GUTIERREZ SC's goal looked a bit too open when Reynaldo Neves came free, but Nicasio Thomas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edinho Paraíba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregorio Pelagius, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. A collision led to Maverick Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Tawfiq Ajram hit a great ball. In the 30th minute of the match Max Verstappen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edinho Paraíba skillfully saved the ball. Nicasio Thomas was out of position in the 32 minute of play, and Reynaldo Neves capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Reynaldo Neves really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Edinho Paraíba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pocho Lavezzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. But to his dismay, Gregorio Pelagius quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. A collision led to GUTIERREZ SC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Isidoro Truylos hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pocho Lavezzi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When GUTIERREZ SC's Pocho Lavezzi in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Maverick Futebol Clube's goalie prevented a goal. Maverick Futebol Clube's Vinícius Haaland got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Wit Chuchro came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Maverick Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wit Chuchro couldn't finish the play. Pocho Lavezzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Maverick Futebol Clube's Edinho Paraíba got control of the ball when Pocho Lavezzi tried to sneak it across the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, Maverick Futebol Clube's Wit Chuchro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicasio Thomas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Maverick Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vinícius Haaland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pocho Lavezzi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edinho Paraíba read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reynaldo Neves in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicasio Thomas saved GUTIERREZ SC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregorio Pelagius in the 83rd minute of play forced Maverick Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Edinho Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 84th minute of the game. One of Maverick Futebol Clube:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of GUTIERREZ SC:s goal. Maverick Futebol Clube:s Edinho Paraíba showed great skill when he stopped Max Verstappen:s penalty. Nicasio Thomas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. The supporters of Maverick Futebol Clube booed when GUTIERREZ SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paja Miguel didn't get a good kick on the ball. 94 minutes into the game, Maverick Futebol Clube's Reynaldo Neves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicasio Thomas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. GUTIERREZ SC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
