In the 4th minute, Manfred Andrau ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ilie Mavrogheni was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Alexandru Boieraș's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Radenko Mayer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. After 13 played minutes Buffalo Timişoara got a freekick which was hit by Andrei Zâncă. 16 minutes into the game, Filip Graur was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buffalo Timişoara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KFC Uerdingen 05 the free kick. Filip Graur kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Ilie Mavrogheni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joseph Hussen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Joseph Hussen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KFC Uerdingen 05 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manole Mihăescu in the 22nd minute of play forced KFC Uerdingen 05's goalkeeper Radenko Mayer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonard Caragea scored 1-2 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Radenko Mayer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 30th minute Karsten Illgner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilie Mavrogheni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manole Mihăescu hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute Leonard Caragea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radenko Mayer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karsten Illgner during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, KFC Uerdingen 05's Karsten Illgner got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 45th minute, Nicolas Anelka hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leonard Caragea made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Leonard Caragea put it in 3-2 from a short distance just to the right of Radenko Mayer. In the 57th minute, Nicolas Anelka hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Radenko Mayer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonard Caragea in the 67th minute of play. Radenko Mayer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mugur Covataru went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. In the 72nd match minute, KFC Uerdingen 05 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gregor Reinauer to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rdth minute of the game Leonard Caragea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KFC Uerdingen 05's Radenko Mayer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mugur Covataru struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Radenko Mayer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buffalo Timişoara. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Joseph Hussen managed to get in a good position for a shot. KFC Uerdingen 05's supporters rose to their feet, but Joseph Hussen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ilie Mavrogheni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 82nd minute Leonard Caragea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radenko Mayer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of KFC Uerdingen 05 booed when Buffalo Timişoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gelu Ţeica didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute, Valeriu Ozon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joseph Hussen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Ilie Mavrogheni made a huge save. Radenko Mayer came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Buffalo Timişoara's Leonard Caragea. But to his dismay, Leonard Caragea quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-2. Buffalo Timişoara's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
