FC Lugano's Chatmongkon Borvornpattarakomol was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ksawery Frodyma in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Dieter Gärtner made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zbyszek Tepper in the 16th minute. Leonard Terasek's late challenge caught a FC Lugano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonard Terasek helped the player get up and apologised. After 19 played minutes, FC Lugano's Chatmongkon Borvornpattarakomol shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ksawery Frodyma came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Lugano reached it. 20 minutes into the match, FC Sójcze's goal looked a bit too open when Pornsak Seearamrungruang came free, but Ksawery Frodyma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ksawery Frodyma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tito Waechter in the 26th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Pornsak Seearamrungruang had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ksawery Frodyma. FC Sójcze's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pornsak Seearamrungruang was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. When Tito Waechter fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Lugano's protests and gave Tito Waechter a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC Sójcze booed when FC Lugano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tito Waechter didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tito Waechter in the 35th minute of play forced FC Sójcze's goalkeeper Ksawery Frodyma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ksawery Frodyma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tito Waechter in the 36th minute of the match. Ksawery Frodyma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tito Waechter, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Ksawery Frodyma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulric Donsante in the 41st minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pornsak Seearamrungruang to make the kick off. With a little luck, FC Sójcze's Ksawery Frodyma got control of the ball when Pornsak Seearamrungruang tried to sneak it across the goal line. Flavian Koenig replaced Fidelio Haller. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Matteo Gartenmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Lugano's supporters rose to their feet, but Matteo Gartenmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ksawery Frodyma breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 68 minutes into the game, Pornsak Seearamrungruang recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ksawery Frodyma. Pornsak Seearamrungruang showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. After a rather tough play, FC Sójcze's Zbyszek Tepper got a free kick in the 81st minute. Matteo Gartenmann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Ksawery Frodyma made a huge save. After 87 played minutes Pornsak Seearamrungruang rounded FC Sójcze's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-6. In the 94th minute Pornsak Seearamrungruang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ksawery Frodyma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Lugano's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
