The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wilhelm Säv showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erdinç Talay, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Karahan Yanal's late challenge caught a Sundens BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Karahan Yanal helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Sundens BK booed when Andırın SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karahan Yanal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alvar Söderman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 25 minutes into the match, Sundens BK's goal looked a bit too open when Erdinç Talay came free, but Wilhelm Säv reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sundens BK's zone, Erdinç Talay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilhelm Säv came out of the goal and Erdinç Talay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andırın SK were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after Sundens BK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bekir Tarık took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Bekir Tarık got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Wilhelm Säv quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hamdi Çolak in the 37th minute of play forced Sundens BK's goalkeeper Wilhelm Säv to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erdinç Talay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilhelm Säv having to interfere. After 40 minutes of play, Andırın SK's Karahan Yanal made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilhelm Säv was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 42nd match minute, Andırın SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yusuf Ülgen to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 44 minutes, Alvar Söderman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sundens BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alvar Söderman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Andırın SK's Yusuf Ülgen got a free kick in the 45th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tommy Asserlindh made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karahan Yanal in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilhelm Säv saved Sundens BK from getting behind. A collision led to Sundens BK getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Olov Alebäck hit a great ball. Wilhelm Säv made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erdinç Talay in the 55th minute of play. Wilhelm Säv showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karahan Yanal, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Wilhelm Säv took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hamdi Çolak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sundens BK's Wilhelm Säv played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hamdi Çolak in the 69th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hamdi Çolak in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilhelm Säv saved Sundens BK from getting behind. Andırın SK were awarded a corner in the 70th minute after Sundens BK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bekir Tarık took the corner. After 73 minutes, Olle Ahlfors mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sundens BK and the Andırın SK players grew even worse after the yellow card.
