The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Club Atletico Fenix's Luisito Amor got control of the ball when Karsten Illgner tried to sneak it across the goal line. Godfredo Seber charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Godfredo Seber the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 10th minute, Karsten Illgner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joseph Hussen got free with Luisito Amor in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Karsten Illgner who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Luisito Amor when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Luisito Amor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karsten Illgner in the 21st minute of play. Karsten Illgner took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luisito Amor. Luisito Amor dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After a rather tough play, KFC Uerdingen 05's Ratko Leibold got a free kick in the 34th minute. KFC Uerdingen 05's Radenko Mayer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Matro in the 38th minute of play. Karsten Illgner hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 47th match minute, KFC Uerdingen 05 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fatmir Zollt to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Karsten Illgner to strike the kick off in the second half. Radenko Mayer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julio Matro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luisito Amor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ratko Leibold in the 55th minute of play. Ratko Leibold received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Luisito Amor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Julio Matro took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Radenko Mayer to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Club Atletico Fenix getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Herminio Berart hit a great ball. After 70 played minutes KFC Uerdingen 05 got a freekick which was hit by Fatmir Zollt. Radenko Mayer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Godfredo Seber in the 72nd minute of the match. If Ratko Leibold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 77 played minutes Club Atletico Fenix got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Poncio. After 84 played minutes KFC Uerdingen 05 got a freekick which was hit by Fatmir Zollt. 88 minutes into the match, KFC Uerdingen 05's goal looked a bit too open when Godfredo Seber came free, but Radenko Mayer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Alois Fontagnier came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the KFC Uerdingen 05 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alois Fontagnier couldn't finish the play. Gregor Reinauer kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godfredo Seber in the 94th minute of play forced KFC Uerdingen 05's goalkeeper Radenko Mayer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Herminio Berart hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Club Atletico Fenix's Luisito Amor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joseph Hussen in the 96th minute of play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
