Zelg FC's Feodor Thelen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfred Andrau in the 3rd minute of play. Enrico Vogt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Radenko Mayer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute Yannis Perathoner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radenko Mayer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrico Vogt in the 22nd minute of play forced KFC Uerdingen 05's goalkeeper Radenko Mayer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Feodor Thelen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karsten Illgner's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. In the 33rd minute, KFC Uerdingen 05's Alois Fontagnier ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Feodor Thelen. Holm Felder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Zelg FC's Feodor Thelen got control of the ball when Alois Fontagnier tried to sneak it across the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Enrico Vogt made a kick off. Enrico Vogt had several of the KFC Uerdingen 05's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 51 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Radenko Mayer as he didn't even see the shot coming. With a little luck, KFC Uerdingen 05's Radenko Mayer got control of the ball when Enrico Vogt tried to sneak it across the goal line. KFC Uerdingen 05's Radenko Mayer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save KFC Uerdingen 05 from getting a goal against them. Radenko Mayer made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Enrico Vogt sent off a good shot on target. Feodor Thelen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karsten Illgner in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Feodor Thelen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fatmir Zollt charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fatmir Zollt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fatmir Zollt hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. When Enrico Vogt got free in front of the goal in the 97th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Radenko Mayer was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar.
