Geraldo Lopes started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd match minute, GD JULIO DINIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Gentil to maneuver through the defense. Sérgio Passos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pornsak Seearamrungruang in the 5th minute of play. Stephen Vicente scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sérgio Passos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Geraldo Lopes's late challenge caught a FC Lugano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Geraldo Lopes helped the player get up and apologised. If Tito Waechter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the GD JULIO DINIS defense, Pornsak Seearamrungruang kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sérgio Passos. The GD JULIO DINIS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sérgio Passos should have stopped the shot. Sérgio Passos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tito Waechter went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. 25 minutes into the match, GD JULIO DINIS's goal looked a bit too open when Pornsak Seearamrungruang came free, but Sérgio Passos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute, Ulric Donsante had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. After a rather tough play, GD JULIO DINIS's Afonso Eanes got a free kick in the 27th minute. Dieter Gärtner made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zeferino Castilho in the 31st minute. In the 34th minute, Pornsak Seearamrungruang left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Lugano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Tito Waechter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Sérgio Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sérgio Passos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pornsak Seearamrungruang in the 39th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Higino Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Lugano's Chatmongkon Borvornpattarakomol got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 42 played minutes FC Lugano got a freekick which was hit by Guido Emennegger. After 43 played minutes GD JULIO DINIS got a freekick which was hit by Zeferino Castilho. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pornsak Seearamrungruang in the 45th minute of play forced GD JULIO DINIS's goalkeeper Sérgio Passos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matteo Gartenmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Sérgio Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half FC Lugano were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Pornsak Seearamrungruang made the kick off in the second half. Sérgio Passos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tito Waechter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes into the game, FC Lugano's Tito Waechter nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sérgio Passos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. In the 57th minute Tito Waechter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Passos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. GD JULIO DINIS's Sérgio Passos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tito Waechter in the 59th minute of play. Tito Waechter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Passos having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, GD JULIO DINIS's goal looked a bit too open when Matteo Gartenmann came free, but Sérgio Passos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 79 minutes, Matteo Gartenmann made it 0-8 with a short kick to the right side. GD JULIO DINIS's Sérgio Passos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 83rd minute, Matteo Gartenmann reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sérgio Passos. The goal made the score 0-9. Sérgio Passos was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Matteo Gartenmann capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Matteo Gartenmann really showed his touch with that goal: 0-10. In the 94th match minute, FC Lugano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fréderic Huerlimann to maneuver through the defense.
