In the 16th match minute, FC Bruges was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richy Wiggers to maneuver through the defense. Tony Van Der Weghen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseu Alagoano in the 19th minute of the match. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a little luck, FC Bruges's Tony Van Der Weghen got control of the ball when Elias Damasceno tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eliseu Alagoano took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tony Van Der Weghen. Tony Van Der Weghen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Sidnei Dionísio might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tony Van Der Weghen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sidnei Dionísio ran back to his position shaking his head. FC Bruges's Tony Van Der Weghen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseu Alagoano in the 90th minute of play. If Elias Damasceno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. FC Bruges's Tony Van Der Weghen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save FC Bruges from getting a goal against them. 卡納里尼奧 FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
