Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fidel Urbes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by Conalep 197's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. When the referee blew the final whistle, Conalep 197 could leave the field as winners, despite Mexico having more of the ball for most of the match.
