But to his dismay, Antonio Berbiz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The audience was convinced that Silvano Paulin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Geronimo Rainerio was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. After 11 played minutes Quitilipi got a freekick which was hit by Fulgencio Johans. In the 18th minute, Silvano Paulin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Geronimo Rainerio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Fulgencio Johans kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonio Berbiz in the 24th minute of play forced Quitilipi's goalkeeper Geronimo Rainerio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Las Palmas were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after Quitilipi's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Antonio Berbiz took the corner. In the 29thth minute of the game Antonio Berbiz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Quitilipi's Geronimo Rainerio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Antonio Berbiz sped through Quitilipi's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Geronimo Rainerio. Geronimo Rainerio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonio Berbiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After 35 minutes of play, Las Palmas's Gaspar Flores made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Quitilipi's Geronimo Rainerio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonio Berbiz in the 44th minute of play. After 45 played minutes Quitilipi got a freekick which was hit by Lisandro Joanes. After having played for 47 minutes, Silvano Paulin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Las Palmas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvano Paulin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Quitilipi players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Las Palmas were winning 0-6.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lisandro Joanes to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Las Palmas's Silvano Paulin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Geronimo Rainerio. That made the score 0-7 after 53 minutes of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fulgencio Johans during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 93rd match minute, Quitilipi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximo Loco to maneuver through the defense. If Ruperto Atarratze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Las Palmas's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
