In the 8thth minute of the game Marco Herensuge who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Palermo's Enrique Lekubegi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Marco Herensuge notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Palermo's Enrique Lekubegi. Enrique Lekubegi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 16th minute, Santos Ioritz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palermo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marco Herensuge in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Enrique Lekubegi saved Palermo from getting behind. In the 23rd minute, Donato Vachon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentin Enekoitz in the 26th minute of play forced ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's goalkeeper Elliot Stanley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Marco Herensuge cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Enrique Lekubegi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Palermo's zone, Marco Herensuge stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enrique Lekubegi came out of the goal and Marco Herensuge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the match, Marco Herensuge notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Palermo's Enrique Lekubegi. Enrique Lekubegi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 41 minutes into the match, Marco Herensuge had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enrique Lekubegi. Palermo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marco Herensuge was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Dionisio Oton kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marco Herensuge made a kick off. Marco Herensuge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Enrique Lekubegi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th minute Marco Herensuge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Lekubegi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enrique Lekubegi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Herensuge, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Herensuge in the 67th minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Enrique Lekubegi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 69 minutes into the game, Marco Herensuge cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-1. Enrique Lekubegi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Enrique Lekubegi came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's Marco Herensuge. But to his dismay, Marco Herensuge quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-1. Palermo's Enrique Lekubegi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Herensuge in the 83rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marco Herensuge in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enrique Lekubegi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 93rd minute, Marco Herensuge got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Enrique Lekubegi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Herensuge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ booed when Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dionisio Oton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Palermo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
