In the 3rd match minute, RB Chubut was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Sorin to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to RB Chubut getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Ezequiel Rutenio hit a great ball. In the 8th minute Nicanor Gaufred shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Vassenius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 15 played minutes Palermo got a freekick which was hit by Dionisio Oton. Enrique Lekubegi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfonso Bikendi's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute, Alfonso Bikendi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The RB Chubut fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Alfonso Bikendi sped through Palermo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Enrique Lekubegi. RB Chubut's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lino Semeno in the 33rd minute. Justino Heli was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Enrique Lekubegi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Bikendi in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Justino Heli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Bikendi in the 42nd minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Enrique Lekubegi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When RB Chubut's Alfonso Bikendi, in the 47th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for RB Chubut. RB Chubut made a substitution. Isaac Mingo replaced Justino Heli. RB Chubut's Lázaro Quico was substituted for Adrian Cristos. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Lázaro Quico's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enrique Lekubegi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Enrique Lekubegi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lázaro Quico went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. In the 59th minute Alfonso Bikendi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Lekubegi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Palermo's goalkeeper Enrique Lekubegi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Alfonso Bikendi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Palermo's Enrique Lekubegi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Bikendi in the 68th minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Alfonso Bikendi made a precise shot to the right of Enrique Lekubegi. Palermo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Palermo's Enrique Lekubegi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrézinho Pelé in the 81st minute of play. Enrique Lekubegi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrézinho Pelé in the 82nd minute of play. Enrique Lekubegi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andrézinho Pelé went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Andrézinho Pelé put it in 8-0 from a short distance just to the right of Enrique Lekubegi. After a rather tough play, RB Chubut's Ezequiel Rutenio got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Palermo's Enrique Lekubegi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrézinho Pelé in the 95th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. RB Chubut fully deserved thier win.
