Gyula Grosics was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hélder Trigo kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Gyula Grosics made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélder Trigo in the 36th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Vascogoianiense FC's Moisés Amaral got a free kick in the 47th minute.

The wind increased when Washington Furtado made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's zone, Hélder Trigo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gyula Grosics came out of the goal and Hélder Trigo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hélder Trigo in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gyula Grosics saved CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA from getting behind. In the 87th minute, Moisés Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute Ademar Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gyula Grosics saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA booed when Vascogoianiense FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Trigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vascogoianiense FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
