Zézinho Neto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Gyula Grosics made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfredão Mesquita got free with Gyula Grosics in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Alfredão Mesquita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sport Club Mavericks's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfredão Mesquita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gyula Grosics breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 10th minute, Davi Rossi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA booed when Sport Club Mavericks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Marinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 18 minutes into the match, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's goal looked a bit too open when Zézinho Neto came free, but Gyula Grosics reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 19 played minutes CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Garcia. The referee ignored Sport Club Mavericks's protests and gave Dito Ferraz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th minute, Dito Ferraz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Patrick Vergílio got a free kick in the 34th minute. When João Adolfo Trevisan fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's protests and gave João Adolfo Trevisan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 46th minute, João Adolfo Trevisan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gyula Grosics was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Mateus Novaes.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Davi Rossi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gyula Grosics took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mateus Novaes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Betinho Secco got a free kick in the 57th minute. CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Gyula Grosics played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davi Rossi in the 60th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Sport Club Mavericks's goal looked a bit too open when Jean Quintal came free, but Amadeu Prado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amadeu Prado made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Claudinei Monteiro sent off a good shot on target. Amadeu Prado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 69th minute, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Washington Furtado dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Betinho Secco got free with Amadeu Prado in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Amadeu Prado came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Toninho Garcia. But to his dismay, Toninho Garcia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Toninho Garcia took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Amadeu Prado to make any attempt to save it. Amadeu Prado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean Quintal in the 92nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toninho Garcia in the 93rd minute of play forced Sport Club Mavericks's goalkeeper Amadeu Prado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sport Club Mavericks's Amadeu Prado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Sport Club Mavericks from getting a goal against them. When the match was over CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sport Club Mavericks throughout the match.
