In the 16th minute Nilson Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Will Muralhas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Squadra Demarchi booed when SE Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elivélton Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oscar Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 28thth minute of the game Oswaldo Godoi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Squadra Demarchi's Oscar Saldanha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, SE Palmeiras's Oswaldo Godoi got a free kick in the 31st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oswaldo Godoi during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to SE Palmeiras getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Oswaldo Godoi hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Júnior Meirelles got free with Will Muralhas in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Oscar Saldanha came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by SE Palmeiras's Abelardo Medeiros. But to his dismay, Abelardo Medeiros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Claudinho Pinho to strike the kick off in the second half. Will Muralhas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinho Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júnior Meirelles in the 67th minute of play forced SE Palmeiras's goalkeeper Will Muralhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roberto Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
