An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldo Pirani in the 53rd minute of play forced EDI MZB's goalkeeper Tarcisio Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. David Vale hit a great ball. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edi Souza in the 64th minute. After 64 played minutes Palestra do Interior got a freekick which was hit by David Vale. Palestra do Interior's Ezequiel de Souza was substituted for Doni Pimenta. The audience was convinced that Pau Lin-Carlos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tarcisio Gerber was relentless in the 91st minute of the game.
