After some careless play in the Sport Club Mavericks defense, Inácio Linhares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amadeu Prado. The Sport Club Mavericks fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amadeu Prado should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Zézinho Neto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Waldir Faria was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Amadeu Prado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulisses Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulisses Cordeiro in the 15th minute of play forced Sport Club Mavericks's goalkeeper Amadeu Prado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 16 played minutes Vascogoianiense FC got a freekick which was hit by Túlio Paes. Amadeu Prado made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Inácio Linhares sent off a good shot on target. Sport Club Mavericks's Amadeu Prado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Sport Club Mavericks from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Inácio Linhares got free with Amadeu Prado in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mateus Novaes during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mateus Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Waldir Faria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zézinho Neto in the 32nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Vascogoianiense FC's Inácio Linhares got a free kick in the 38th minute. Waldir Faria stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zézinho Neto's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. In the 42ndth minute of the game Zézinho Neto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vascogoianiense FC's Waldir Faria was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 47th minute Zézinho Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldir Faria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Davi Rossi made a kick off. If José Carlos Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amadeu Prado came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Vascogoianiense FC's Josué Pena. But to his dismay, Josué Pena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. A collision led to Sport Club Mavericks getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Ian Marinho hit a great ball. Amadeu Prado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olavo Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olavo Fonseca hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Vascogoianiense FC's Waldir Faria proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Vascogoianiense FC from getting a goal against them. Davi Rossi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Waldir Faria made a huge save. Davi Rossi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Faria having to interfere. Davi Rossi made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 83rdth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Waldir Faria would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Vascogoianiense FC's Waldir Faria proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Vascogoianiense FC from getting a goal against them. When Davi Rossi came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Sport Club Mavericks fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Davi Rossi couldn't finish the play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
