When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rafa Coutinho made a kick off. Walmir Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dinei Brito in the 51st minute of play. Luís Fabiano Varela kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dinei Brito in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Walmir Dias saved Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® from getting behind. Leopoldo Capixaba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 59 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goal looked a bit too open when Rafa Coutinho came free, but Antônio Carlos Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leopoldo Capixaba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antônio Carlos Cavalcante read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Walmir Dias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dinei Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Walmir Dias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronaldo Pirani's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
