Tiago Machado started the match with the kick off. The supporters of E.C 2 Janeiro RS booed when EDI MZB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fábio Alves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tiago Machado hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute, Tiago Machado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlinhos da Costa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In a very dangerous position, a player in EDI MZB fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 15th minute. Penalty! Marco Valadares shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Dário Gomes made in the 19th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by EDI MZB's Didi Mesquita. The audience thought a goal was coming when Evandro Maia got free with Carlinhos da Costa in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tiago Machado struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Carlinhos da Costa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for EDI MZB. After 32 minutes, Marco Valadares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the E.C 2 Janeiro RS and the EDI MZB players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to E.C 2 Janeiro RS getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Marco Valadares hit a great ball. Carlinhos da Costa was a little too slow when Tiago Machado got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 3-0. 36 minutes into the match, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's goal looked a bit too open when Tiago Machado came free, but Carlinhos da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlinhos da Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiago Machado in the 38th minute of the match. With a little luck, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Carlinhos da Costa got control of the ball when Tiago Machado tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 40 played minutes E.C 2 Janeiro RS got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Pontes. After 41 played minutes, EDI MZB's Edi Souza shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carlinhos da Costa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in EDI MZB reached it. After 43 played minutes Tiago Machado rounded E.C 2 Janeiro RS's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 4-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marco Valadares to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Evandro Maia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlinhos da Costa. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Evandro Maia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Tiago Machado put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Carlinhos da Costa. If Edi Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edi Souza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlinhos da Costa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. After 65 played minutes E.C 2 Janeiro RS got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Ortiz. A hard and well directed shot from Evandro Maia led 66 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Carlinhos da Costa became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 7-0. A collision led to E.C 2 Janeiro RS getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Dário Gomes hit a great ball. After 70 played minutes E.C 2 Janeiro RS got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Pontes. 72 minutes into the match, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's goal looked a bit too open when Tiago Machado came free, but Carlinhos da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Paulo Pontes got a free kick in the 72nd minute. In the 73rd minute Tiago Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlinhos da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's goal looked a bit too open when Evandro Maia came free, but Carlinhos da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Evandro Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlinhos da Costa having to interfere. EDI MZB's Caio Sergipano was substituted for Hélio Baiano. Carlinhos da Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiago Machado in the 90th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. EDI MZB had played much better football throughout.
