In the 38thth minute of the game Túlio Maravilha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Carlinhos da Costa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 40 minutes, João Ferreira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palmares Futebol Clube and the E.C 2 Janeiro RS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 40th match minute, Palmares Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Fellipe Rezende couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 41st minute. Carlinhos da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the game, Palmares Futebol Clube's Luisinho Nogueira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carlinhos da Costa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Palmares Futebol Clube made a substitution. Thomás Maia replaced Luisinho Nogueira. Palmares Futebol Clube's João Carlos Antunes was substituted for Jarbas Porto. In the 73rd match minute, E.C 2 Janeiro RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Francisco de Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Túlio Maravilha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlinhos da Costa was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. After 81 played minutes, Palmares Futebol Clube's Gláuber da Costa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carlinhos da Costa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Palmares Futebol Clube reached it. Carlinhos da Costa came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Palmares Futebol Clube's Túlio Maravilha. But to his dismay, Túlio Maravilha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Túlio Maravilha put it in 7-0 from a short distance just to the right of Carlinhos da Costa. João Vítor Sena scored 8-0 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlinhos da Costa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Basílio Ortiz hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. When Gláuber da Costa came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Palmares Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gláuber da Costa couldn't finish the play. Palmares Futebol Clube walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
