When Tiago Machado came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the EDI MZB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiago Machado couldn't finish the play. 19 minutes in the game Luís Fabiano Varela did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Rafa Coutinho. Walmir Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evandro Maia in the 21st minute of play. In the 26th minute Tiago Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmir Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 36 played minutes Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Botelho. Walmir Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evandro Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Didi Mesquita hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rafa Coutinho to strike the kick off in the second half. After 55 minutes of play, Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s Rafa Coutinho made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tarcisio Gerber was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 57th match minute, EDI MZB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edi Souza to maneuver through the defense. When Gernando dos Santos fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Tarcisio Gerber stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adrianinho Furtado's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Tiago Machado was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 77th minute. EDI MZB's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 92 played minutes EDI MZB got a freekick which was hit by Edi Souza. In the 93rd match minute, EDI MZB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Didi Mesquita to maneuver through the defense.
