After 4 played minutes SE Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Natanael Paraense. Will Muralhas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Belmiro Sanches in the 6th minute of the match. In the 6th minute Belmiro Sanches shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Will Muralhas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Belmiro Sanches got free with Will Muralhas in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 12 minutes into the match, Oswaldo Godoi notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of EDI MZB's Tarcisio Gerber. Tarcisio Gerber was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 16th minute, Christiano Baiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tarcisio Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oswaldo Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Will Muralhas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelinho Cabral in the 27th minute of the match. Abelardo Medeiros struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Tarcisio Gerber didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SE Palmeiras. With a little luck, SE Palmeiras's Will Muralhas got control of the ball when Evandro Maia tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 40th minute, Abelardo Medeiros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tarcisio Gerber was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Didi Mesquita charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Didi Mesquita the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Didi Mesquita kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, SE Palmeiras's Alfredo Vieira broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After the first half SE Palmeiras were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

EDI MZB's Hélio Baiano was substituted for Belmiro Sanches. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcelinho Cabral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfredo Vieira during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as SE Palmeiras's Abelardo Medeiros slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tarcisio Gerber. That made the score 0-3 after 60 minutes of play. Tarcisio Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Vieira in the 65th minute of the match. The supporters of SE Palmeiras booed when EDI MZB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edi Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tarcisio Gerber made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roberto Andrade in the 69th minute. Will Muralhas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sidnei Fernandez in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Edi Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Elivélton Valle from long distance, 77 minutes into the match, got Tarcisio Gerber's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 79 played minutes SE Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Andrade. Edi Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Will Muralhas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute Marcelinho Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Will Muralhas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tarcisio Gerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After 88 minutes, Sidnei Fernandez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the EDI MZB and the SE Palmeiras players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 88 played minutes EDI MZB got a freekick which was hit by Sidnei Fernandez. Abelardo Medeiros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tarcisio Gerber read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. A hard shot 91 in the game by Abelardo Medeiros from a close distance when the talented Tarcisio Gerber managed to make a qualified save. EDI MZB's players were relieved. 93 minutes had been played when some careless play by EDI MZB's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alfredo Vieira was slow to take the kick. During this time SE Palmeiras's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on SE Palmeiras's corner Alfredo Vieira fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tarcisio Gerber quite easily take care of the ball. Marcelinho Cabral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SE Palmeiras had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
