Ronaldo Pirani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Tarcisio Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Fábio Alves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Delfim Quintal came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Palestra do Interior fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Delfim Quintal couldn't finish the play. 86 minutes into the match, Nelson Xavier notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of EDI MZB's Tarcisio Gerber. Tarcisio Gerber was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tarcisio Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dinei Brito in the 90th minute of play.
