EDI MZB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Agua Santa the free kick. Eugênio Monteiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tarcisio Gerber having to make a save. In the 7th minute, Enrique Abreu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 10 minutes, Enrique Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Agua Santa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Enrique Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frank Rosa took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tarcisio Gerber. Tarcisio Gerber dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The supporters of EDI MZB booed when Agua Santa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Cosme didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enrique Abreu took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tarcisio Gerber. Tarcisio Gerber dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Tomé Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiago Machado in the 21st minute of the match. Tarcisio Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiago Cosme in the 26th minute of play. Tomé Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evandro Maia in the 28th minute of play. Frank Rosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enrique Abreu got free with Tarcisio Gerber in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiago Machado in the 41st minute of play forced Agua Santa's goalkeeper Tomé Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tarcisio Gerber made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enrique Abreu in the 42nd minute. After 45 played minutes Agua Santa got a freekick which was hit by Jânio Arantes. 46 minutes into the match, Agua Santa's goal looked a bit too open when Evandro Maia came free, but Tomé Mota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomé Mota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Belmiro Sanches, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Agua Santa's William Luz was substituted for Fábio Lopez. After 59 played minutes Agua Santa got a freekick which was hit by Jânio Arantes. Tarcisio Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernesto Velloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomé Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiago Machado in the 66th minute of the match. Agua Santa's Frank Rosa got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frank Rosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tarcisio Gerber. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Rosa ran back to his position shaking his head. Tarcisio Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Abreu in the 76th minute of play. Evandro Maia kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Enrique Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Agua Santa's supporters rose to their feet, but Enrique Abreu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tarcisio Gerber breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Evandro Maia got free with Tomé Mota in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. There was no doubt that Agua Santa were the better team. Agua Santa's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
