The audience was convinced that Valdo Guimarães's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Davi Tande was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. João Francisco Madureira did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Perivaldo Moreira 20 minutes into the match. Perivaldo Moreira didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 24th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. If Valdo Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Délio Souza in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Davi Tande prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Délio Souza might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Davi Tande. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Délio Souza ran back to his position shaking his head. Valdo Guimarães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Davi Tande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdo Guimarães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 33 played minutes Cacá Castro rounded MARINUS MZC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-0. 39 minutes into the match, Haroldo de Carvalho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Perivaldo Moreira, 4-0. 43 minutes into the game, João Francisco Madureira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Perivaldo Moreira. João Francisco Madureira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Délio Souza made a kick off.
