With a little luck, Sport Club Mavericks's Amadeu Prado got control of the ball when Serafim Simão tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Serafim Simão took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Amadeu Prado to make any attempt to save it. 13 minutes into the match, Serafim Simão notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Sport Club Mavericks's Amadeu Prado. Amadeu Prado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mateus Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Sport Club Mavericks's Amadeu Prado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Vale in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th match minute, Sport Club Mavericks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Carlos Mangueira to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luisão de Medeiros during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 21 played minutes Palestra do Interior got a freekick which was hit by Luisão de Medeiros. After 22 played minutes, Sport Club Mavericks's Pedro Augusto Marquez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Cavalcante came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sport Club Mavericks reached it. Nelsinho Marinho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Amadeu Prado came out and tried to block the shot, but Nelsinho Marinho slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 27th minute. Amadeu Prado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Doni Pimenta in the 33rd minute. Palestra do Interior's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Nelsinho Marinho in the 34th minute. At last the ball reached Serafim Simão at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Sport Club Mavericks. 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Vale in the 38th minute of play forced Sport Club Mavericks's goalkeeper Amadeu Prado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 38th play minutes Nelsinho Marinho shot 5-0, a short shot which went by Amadeu Prado and just under the crossbar into goal. 42 minutes into the game, Nelsinho Marinho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Amadeu Prado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nelsinho Marinho was the one to do the kick off. Sport Club Mavericks's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0. Peder Neira got his second yellow card in the match during the 82nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Peder Neira hit a great ball. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sport Club Mavericks's goalkeeper Amadeu Prado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee felt a red card was in order, 93 minutes into the game, when Nelsinho Marinho put in a rough tackle. After 92 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Palestra do Interior! After some careless play in the Sport Club Mavericks defense, Delfim Quintal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amadeu Prado. The Sport Club Mavericks fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amadeu Prado should have stopped the shot. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Palestra do Interior fully deserved thier win.
