Haldun Şahvar's late challenge caught a S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Haldun Şahvar helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to F.C BEŞİKTAŞ getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Haldun Şahvar hit a great ball. In the 4th match minute, F.C BEŞİKTAŞ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erkin Ilıcak to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Alberto Viana scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fadıl Demirtekin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Carlos Alberto Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fadıl Demirtekin having to interfere. If João Carlos Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Ivo Mello got a free kick in the 11th minute. Fadıl Demirtekin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Carlos Gaspar in the 13th minute of play. After 17 minutes of play, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Carlos Alberto Viana made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fadıl Demirtekin was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Giovanni Soeiro got a free kick in the 19th minute. Carlos Alberto Viana hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Fadıl Demirtekin came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Ladislao Mazurkiewicz. But to his dismay, Ladislao Mazurkiewicz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. 28 minutes into the match, F.C BEŞİKTAŞ's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Alberto Viana came free, but Fadıl Demirtekin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Viana in the 33rd minute of play forced F.C BEŞİKTAŞ's goalkeeper Fadıl Demirtekin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Alberto Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fadıl Demirtekin having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sarp Doğan was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Viana in the 53rd minute of play forced F.C BEŞİKTAŞ's goalkeeper Fadıl Demirtekin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to F.C BEŞİKTAŞ getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Haldun Şahvar hit a great ball. After 61 played minutes, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Carlos Alberto Viana shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fadıl Demirtekin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in S.E.R. Caxias do Sul reached it. A sloppy throw-in by Ivo Mello in the 68th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by F.C BEŞİKTAŞ's Ahmet Emir Özgebay. Fadıl Demirtekin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Viana in the 73rd minute of play. Sezer Cabir kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 78th minute, Ahmet Emir Özgebay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. F.C BEŞİKTAŞ's Ahmet Ömür Temizel managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Flávio Fonseca in the 89 minute of the game. Ahmet Emir Özgebay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of F.C BEŞİKTAŞ booed when S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivo Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball.
