An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinaldo das Neves in the 18th minute of play forced Club Sportivo Italiano's goalkeeper Rafael Martino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafael Martino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinaldo das Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 21st minute of the match Operário Futebol Clube got a corner. Inácio Guimarães was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Clóvis Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Inácio Guimarães showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Décio Vale was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Club Sportivo Italiano's Sixto Roland got a free kick in the 51st minute. Reinaldo das Neves might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafael Martino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reinaldo das Neves ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 63rd minute, Club Sportivo Italiano's Gaudencio Ebardo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gaudencio Ebardo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Club Sportivo Italiano protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gaudencio Ebardo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Gaudencio Ebardo hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. When Eriberto Sá fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Operário Futebol Clube's protests and gave Eriberto Sá a yellow card for diving instead. In the 95th minute, Elvio Machado reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Inácio Guimarães. The goal made the score 0-2. When the final whistle sounded Club Sportivo Italiano left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Operário Futebol Clube.
