The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Serafino Berria came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Deportivo Ortegano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Serafino Berria couldn't finish the play. Serafino Berria could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Nestor Quintal made a huge save. When Romeu Guerra fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Independente FC's protests and gave Romeu Guerra a yellow card for diving instead. Deportivo Ortegano's Vasco Rovira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ezequiel Barral in the 12th minute of play. Nestor Quintal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Steve Ice-Cream Guobadia in the 17th minute. In the 22nd minute, José Vítor Rodrigues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 23rd match minute, Deportivo Ortegano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kosisochukwu Ice-Cream Guobadia to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute of the match Romeu Guerra shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vasco Rovira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. George Maxwell Ice-Cream Guobadia was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 29 minutes into the match. After 30 played minutes Deportivo Ortegano got a freekick which was hit by George Maxwell Ice-Cream Guobadia. Vasco Rovira didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Independente FC's Zé Carlos de Azevedo shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. After some careless play in the Independente FC defense, Aztore Cobian kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nestor Quintal. The Independente FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nestor Quintal should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Independente FC's Nestor Quintal got control of the ball when Serafino Berria tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aztore Cobian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sagrario Meldasgoas hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Serafino Berria struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Nestor Quintal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Ortegano. 46 minutes into the match, Independente FC's goalkeeper Nestor Quintal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sotero Besga. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sotero Besga to make the kick off. Francesco Samano charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Francesco Samano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 54 minutes into the match, Deportivo Ortegano's goal looked a bit too open when José Vítor Rodrigues came free, but Vasco Rovira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Independente FC's Zé Carlos de Azevedo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vasco Rovira. That made the score 2-2 after 57 minutes of play. 59 minutes into the game, Paulo José Veiga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Independente FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Ortegano the free kick. The supporters of Deportivo Ortegano booed when Independente FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo José Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sotero Besga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nestor Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serafino Berria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sotero Besga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Deportivo Ortegano booed when Independente FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edvaldo Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Serafino Berria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Independente FC's Edvaldo Tinoco got a free kick in the 86th minute. After having played for 87 minutes, Sotero Besga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Ortegano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sotero Besga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aztore Cobian hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Independente FC's goalkeeper Nestor Quintal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
