Vivaldo Caneira lost his temper 3 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 2nd minute of the game. One of FC Dezassete:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Black Rose 1979:s goal. When the match had been going on for 5 minutes, Black Rose 1979's Alonzo Oxel got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Norberto Melo. Gonza Montiel kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 10th minute Alcides Valadares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baldomero Guillem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Norberto Melo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davor Šuker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute, Alonzo Oxel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Norberto Melo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Silvio Llope in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the match, FC Dezassete's goal looked a bit too open when Enzo-Nicolás Pérez came free, but Norberto Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Norberto Melo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davor Šuker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute Alcides Valadares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baldomero Guillem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 34 played minutes FC Dezassete got a freekick which was hit by Cherry Kiss. Baldomero Guillem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alcides Valadares in the 38th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Cherry Kiss hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 43 played minutes, Black Rose 1979's Gonza Montiel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Norberto Melo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Black Rose 1979 reached it. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Norberto Medardo was the one to do the kick off. The Black Rose 1979 fans' excitement grew in the 57th match minute when Black Rose 1979's Silvio Llope looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Norberto Melo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Davor Šuker in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Black Rose 1979's goalkeeper Baldomero Guillem, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Alcides Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 73 played minutes FC Dezassete got a freekick which was hit by Maurício Caetano. Norberto Melo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davor Šuker in the 84th minute of the match. Alonzo Oxel hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Gatis Caca-Rato kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. After 96 played minutes FC Dezassete got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldo Nunes. In the 98th minute Alonzo Oxel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Black Rose 1979 walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
