The audience thought a goal was coming when Dimas Álvares got free with Heitor Horta in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sílvio Assunção charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sílvio Assunção the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Garanhão do SUL booed when Ponte do Carro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sílvio Assunção didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tarcísio Palha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Dimas Álvares might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Heitor Horta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dimas Álvares ran back to his position shaking his head. Garanhão do SUL's Heitor Peseiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Garanhão do SUL from getting a goal against them. Heitor Horta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Johnsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After 66 played minutes Garanhão do SUL got a freekick which was hit by Fabrício Águas. Moisés Nogueira struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Heitor Peseiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 87th minute Mateus Quaresma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heitor Peseiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute, Alexandre Lucena reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Heitor Peseiro. The goal made the score 3-3. 95 minutes into the match, Moisés Nogueira dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Heitor Peseiro, 3-4.
