An unexpectedly hard shot by Filipe Poças in the 4th minute of play forced Black Rose 1979's goalkeeper Baldomero Guillem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 4th minute, Filipe Poças made a precise shot to the right of Baldomero Guillem. Black Rose 1979's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 7th minute Veríssimo Taveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baldomero Guillem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Black Rose 1979's goal looked a bit too open when Filipe Poças came free, but Baldomero Guillem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Filipe Poças hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After 18 minutes, Vladimiro Corte-Real mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ponte do Carro and the Black Rose 1979 players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Black Rose 1979 booed when Ponte do Carro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimiro Corte-Real didn't get a good kick on the ball. Baldomero Guillem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Altino Guerreiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 26 minutes, Marcos Bladi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Black Rose 1979 and the Ponte do Carro players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Veríssimo Taveira came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Ponte do Carro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Veríssimo Taveira couldn't finish the play. Ponte do Carro's Vladimiro Corte-Real got his second yellow card of the match in the 34th minute. The referee ordered Vladimiro Corte-Real off the ground. After a rather tough play, Ponte do Carro's Vladimiro Corte-Real got a free kick in the 34th minute. The supporters of Black Rose 1979 booed when Ponte do Carro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Poças didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcos Bladi kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Silvio Llope was the one to do the kick off. When Filipe Poças fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ponte do Carro's protests and gave Filipe Poças a yellow card for diving instead. Ponte do Carro's Heitor Horta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Fagondo in the 55th minute of play. In the 62nd match minute, Ponte do Carro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filipe Poças to maneuver through the defense. Altino Guerreiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Noel Pacheco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Baldomero Guillem made a huge save. Altino Guerreiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Baldomero Guillem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baldomero Guillem made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Filipe Poças sent off a good shot on target. In the 80th minute, Veríssimo Taveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute Filipe Poças shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baldomero Guillem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Ponte do Carro getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Noel Pacheco hit a great ball. In the 90th minute of the match Silvio Llope shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Heitor Horta showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ponte do Carro were furious when Ricardo Calado was red carded, 93 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 93 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ponte do Carro! Heitor Horta had in the 97thth minute some difficulties stopping Silvio Llope's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ponte do Carro had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
