Despite this Kristiaan Van de Velde quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Kristiaan Van de Velde made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Filipe Poças sent off a good shot on target. In the 19th match minute, de belletrekkers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raf De Backer to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rdth minute of the game George Van Impe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ponte do Carro's Heitor Horta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vladimiro Corte-Real during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Ponte do Carro getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Vladimiro Corte-Real hit a great ball. George Van Impe kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. 40 minutes into the match, de belletrekkers's goal looked a bit too open when Altino Guerreiro came free, but Kristiaan Van de Velde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vladimiro Corte-Real could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Kristiaan Van de Velde made a huge save. Ponte do Carro's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Celso Câmara in the 42nd minute. After taking down the ball on Ponte do Carro's corner Celso Câmara fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kristiaan Van de Velde quite easily take care of the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Filipe Poças to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Ponte do Carro's Filipe Poças got a free kick in the 50th minute. 53 minutes into the match, Ponte do Carro's Altino Guerreiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kristiaan Van de Velde narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With his leg Heitor Horta managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when de belletrekkers's Rein Goethals fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Vladimiro Corte-Real fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristiaan Van de Velde having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Altino Guerreiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ponte do Carro's supporters rose to their feet, but Altino Guerreiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kristiaan Van de Velde breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Ponte do Carro getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Vladimiro Corte-Real hit a great ball. 65 minutes into the game, George Van Impe recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Heitor Horta. George Van Impe showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ponte do Carro's goalkeeper Heitor Horta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Ponte do Carro defense, George Van Impe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Heitor Horta. The Ponte do Carro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Heitor Horta should have stopped the shot. The supporters of de belletrekkers booed when Ponte do Carro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Veríssimo Taveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Ponte do Carro's goalkeeper Heitor Horta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yanniek De Middeleer. After having played for 74 minutes, Filipe Poças managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ponte do Carro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filipe Poças was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kristiaan Van de Velde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Altino Guerreiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 81st minute Ponte do Carro were awarded a corner. Celso Câmara went to the cornerflag to take it. Celso Câmara made a great header on Ponte do Carro's corner, it was just that de belletrekkers's Kristiaan Van de Velde managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 83rd minute, Raf De Backer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kristiaan Van de Velde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filipe Poças in the 84th minute of the match. 94 minutes into the match, de belletrekkers's goal looked a bit too open when Altino Guerreiro came free, but Kristiaan Van de Velde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Vladimiro Corte-Real managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ponte do Carro's supporters rose to their feet, but Vladimiro Corte-Real was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kristiaan Van de Velde breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
