Júnior Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Isidor Balboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júnior Alagoano in the 35th minute of play. Luis Aragones hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Isidor Balboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Sarmento, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Doni Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcial Tarin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Isidor Balboa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcelo Eger went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The Cuatrodeocho players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Castanheiro SC were winning 0-2.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcelo Eger couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Mauro Sarmento kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Isidor Balboa. That made the score 1-3 in the 92 minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Castanheiro SC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
