The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shah Tan in the 24th minute of play forced Guayana FC's goalkeeper Bermund Barcelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 25 minutes of play, Paraná Clube's Shah Tan made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bermund Barcelo was left in no man's land by his defense there! 31 minutes into the game, Lucio Menoyo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guayana FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraná Clube the free kick. After 31 played minutes Guayana FC got a freekick which was hit by Lucio Menoyo.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Shah Tan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Steven Abisheganaden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bermund Barcelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Azly Chee's late challenge caught a Guayana FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Azly Chee helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of Paraná Clube:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Guayana FC:s goal. Bermund Barcelo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shahiran Hian, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Jacindo Antia took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Darren Chandran. Darren Chandran dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-5. Romeo Garmendia hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Bermund Barcelo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mujahid Singh in the 89th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dorio Guillaumet during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 92nd match minute, Guayana FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorio Guillaumet to maneuver through the defense. Bermund Barcelo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shah Lam in the 95th minute of play. Guayana FC's Bermund Barcelo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Guayana FC from getting a goal against them.
