In the 13th minute Jurand Cempa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Chaves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Zacisze Częstochowa's Miroslaw Gollob got control of the ball when Clayton Sergi tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 17 played minutes Zacisze Częstochowa got a freekick which was hit by Cyprian Kloczko. Jurand Cempa might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tony Chaves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jurand Cempa ran back to his position shaking his head. 19 minutes into the match, SE Palestra Itália's goal looked a bit too open when Jurand Cempa came free, but Tony Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miroslaw Gollob made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betão Vargas in the 21st minute of play. Jurand Cempa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Tony Chaves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Zacisze Częstochowa's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Adalberto Custódio was slow to take the kick. During this time SE Palestra Itália's players had a chance to rest. Adalberto Custódio made a great header on SE Palestra Itália's corner, it was just that Zacisze Częstochowa's Miroslaw Gollob managed to reach the ball for a save. The attack was good, but when Acar Buğrahan in the 26th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Tony Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jurand Cempa in the 47th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Betão Vargas made a kick off. If Jurand Cempa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zacisze Częstochowa's Gaston Zárate was substituted for Damaso Alonso. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Betão Vargas in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Miroslaw Gollob saved Zacisze Częstochowa from getting behind. After 65 played minutes Zacisze Częstochowa got a freekick which was hit by Axel Coomans. The supporters of SE Palestra Itália booed when Zacisze Częstochowa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Axel Coomans didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 69 minutes, Edson Fernandes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SE Palestra Itália and the Zacisze Częstochowa players grew even worse after the yellow card.
