An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorginho Azevedo in the 3rd minute of play forced Brothers of Mercy's goalkeeper Alexandre Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 5th minute, Mats Elg made a precise shot to the right of Alberto Catarinense. Diamonds FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. With a little luck, Diamonds FC's Alberto Catarinense got control of the ball when Bengt-Rune Strömbom tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alberto Catarinense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dan Björk went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. 18 minutes into the game, Brothers of Mercy's Bengt-Rune Strömbom nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alberto Catarinense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Brothers of Mercy's Ulf Öfverman got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ulf Öfverman might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alberto Catarinense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ulf Öfverman ran back to his position shaking his head. 23 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Brothers of Mercy's Bengt-Rune Strömbom fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. In the 26th minute of the game Pedro Tomás Geromel made a throw-in which Nuno Massa played forward. In the 27th minute, Ulf Öfverman made a precise shot to the right of Alberto Catarinense. Diamonds FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Ulf Öfverman might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alberto Catarinense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ulf Öfverman ran back to his position shaking his head. 34 minutes into the match, Ulf Öfverman notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Diamonds FC's Alberto Catarinense. Alberto Catarinense was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Diamonds FC's zone, Ulf Öfverman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alberto Catarinense came out of the goal and Ulf Öfverman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bengt-Rune Strömbom succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 7-0 in the 40th playminute. Alberto Catarinense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bengt-Rune Strömbom in the 47th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 7-0.
The wind increased when Nico Pereira made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Ulf Öfverman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brothers of Mercy's supporters rose to their feet, but Ulf Öfverman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alberto Catarinense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 55 minutes into the game, Brothers of Mercy's Bengt-Rune Strömbom nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alberto Catarinense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. Thiago van Dijk hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. When Brothers of Mercy's Ulf Öfverman in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Diamonds FC's goalie prevented a goal. 61 minutes into the game, Francisco Tavares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Diamonds FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brothers of Mercy the free kick. After 62 played minutes Diamonds FC got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Tavares. Brothers of Mercy's Erramu Chute was substituted for Bengt-Rune Strömbom. Erramu Chute sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ulf Öfverman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 78 minutes into the game, Ulf Öfverman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 10-0. Alberto Catarinense was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 82nd minute, Ulf Öfverman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alberto Catarinense was frozen by the shot and now it was 11-0. 85 minutes into the game, Erramu Chute cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 12-0. Alberto Catarinense was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 88th minute Ulf Öfverman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jörn Matsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Alberto Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erramu Chute scored 13-0 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alberto Catarinense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 96 minutes into the match, Erramu Chute had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alberto Catarinense. Diamonds FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erramu Chute was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 14-0. Brothers of Mercy's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
