Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Brothers of Mercy's Bengt-Rune Strömbom started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ulf Öfverman scored 1-0 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nikolas Karkamanis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dimitris Maros in the 7th minute of play forced Brothers of Mercy's goalkeeper Alexandre Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute, Kostas Papadatos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 9 played minutes, Brothers of Mercy's Thiago van Dijk shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nikolas Karkamanis came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Brothers of Mercy reached it. 11 minutes into the match, Ulf Öfverman notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Atletico de Madrid's Nikolas Karkamanis. Nikolas Karkamanis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 15th play minute Ulf Öfverman came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Nikolas Karkamanis. 3-0. 18 minutes into the match, Atletico de Madrid's goalkeeper Nikolas Karkamanis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bengt-Rune Strömbom. Ulf Öfverman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nikolas Karkamanis came out and tried to block the shot, but Ulf Öfverman slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 19th minute. Ulf Öfverman took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nikolas Karkamanis. Nikolas Karkamanis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Nikolas Karkamanis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bengt-Rune Strömbom in the 26th minute. Nikolas Karkamanis was out of position in the 27 minute of play, and Mats Elg capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mats Elg really showed his touch with that goal: 6-0. Ulf Öfverman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Nikolas Karkamanis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Savas Stavridis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 32 minutes, Thiago van Dijk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brothers of Mercy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thiago van Dijk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Brothers of Mercy's Ulf Öfverman in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atletico de Madrid's goalie prevented a goal. Nikolas Karkamanis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mats Elg in the 38th minute of play. Nikolas Karkamanis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulf Öfverman in the 39th minute of the match. Bengt-Rune Strömbom in the 41stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nikolas Karkamanis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Ulf Öfverman in the 43rd play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Nikolas Karkamanis kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 7-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. 46 minutes into the match, Atletico de Madrid's goal looked a bit too open when Ulf Öfverman came free, but Nikolas Karkamanis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Iakovos Papafotopoulos made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Ulf Öfverman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nikolas Karkamanis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Brothers of Mercy's Ulf Öfverman in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atletico de Madrid's goalie prevented a goal. After some careless play in the Atletico de Madrid defense, Bengt-Rune Strömbom kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nikolas Karkamanis. The Atletico de Madrid fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nikolas Karkamanis should have stopped the shot. Brothers of Mercy made a substitution. Erramu Chute replaced Bengt-Rune Strömbom. After having played for 74 minutes, Ulf Öfverman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brothers of Mercy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulf Öfverman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Panos Spyroulis kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Ulf Öfverman made a precise shot to the right of Nikolas Karkamanis. Atletico de Madrid's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 10-0. When Ulf Öfverman fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brothers of Mercy's protests and gave Ulf Öfverman a yellow card for diving instead. Ulf Öfverman kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Alexandre Pires was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Dimosthenis Stamatopoulos. 86 minutes into the game, Ulf Öfverman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 11-0. Nikolas Karkamanis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 89 minutes into the match, Brothers of Mercy's Mats Elg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nikolas Karkamanis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The corner led to Brothers of Mercy's Ulf Öfverman getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ulf Öfverman in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nikolas Karkamanis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nikolas Karkamanis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulf Öfverman in the 95th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Brothers of Mercy had played much better football throughout.
