In the 19th match minute, Brothers of Mercy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Odeen to maneuver through the defense. Brothers of Mercy's Alexandre Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ángel Molinari in the 24th minute of play. The supporters of Ipro Demiga Fútbol Club booed when Brothers of Mercy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antaios Tsangaris didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexandre Pires stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alvarez Håland's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Alvarez Håland blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alexandre Pires having to make a save. Alexandre Pires took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvarez Håland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ángel Molinari had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Brothers of Mercy's Alexandre Pires proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Brothers of Mercy from getting a goal against them. Kilydd Gonzalez's late challenge caught a Brothers of Mercy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
