Juventus FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mansour Trezeguet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nikolas Karkamanis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Mansour Trezeguet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nikolas Karkamanis was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Juventus FC's Araoz Zapatero got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 34th minute, Savas Stavridis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 37 minutes into the game, Juventus FC's Mansour Trezeguet nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nikolas Karkamanis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kaiet Sobrado during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 41st match minute, Juventus FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaiet Sobrado to maneuver through the defense. Mansour Trezeguet who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Nikolas Karkamanis when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Nikolas Karkamanis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mansour Trezeguet, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Mansour Trezeguet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Juventus FC's Araoz Zapatero got a free kick in the 75th minute. Mansour Trezeguet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Nikolas Karkamanis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raúl Labarra kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After having played for 88 minutes, Iakovos Papafotopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atletico de Madrid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iakovos Papafotopoulos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Thanasis Vamvoukas came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Atletico de Madrid fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thanasis Vamvoukas couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Juventus FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
