Skövde AIK's attentive Kurt Hamrin managed to snatch the ball when Korkut Hüdayioğlu made a throw-in in the 21st minute of the game. Rastislav Duch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Keegan in the 24th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Feyenoord Malinovo's goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Keegan came free, but Rastislav Duch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Peter Németh got free with Viktor Pettersson in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 33rd minute of the match Feyenoord Malinovo got a corner. Skövde AIK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Peter Németh ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Skövde AIK's goalie and right to Andreas den Ronden. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Skövde AIK's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Viktor Pettersson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peter Németh in the 37th minute. After 40 minutes of play, Feyenoord Malinovo's Peter Németh made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Viktor Pettersson was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Skövde AIK booed when Feyenoord Malinovo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Gašpar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peter Németh kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Cazimir Tănăsocă charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cazimir Tănăsocă the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

Viktor Pettersson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaw Pawelczyk in the 54th minute of the match. Viktor Pettersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Németh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Feyenoord Malinovo's Rastislav Duch proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Feyenoord Malinovo from getting a goal against them. When Kurt Hamrin came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Skövde AIK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kurt Hamrin couldn't finish the play. Gustaw Pawelczyk scored 5-0 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Viktor Pettersson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kevin Keegan hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Eugen Zoch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th minute Peter Németh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viktor Pettersson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Gašpar in the 88th minute of play forced Skövde AIK's goalkeeper Viktor Pettersson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Peter Németh had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Viktor Pettersson. Skövde AIK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Peter Németh was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. Viktor Pettersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugen Zoch in the 94th minute of play. Feyenoord Malinovo walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
