The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Felipe Ros lost his temper 2 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Uriel Eneko made a kick off. Alex Cambeiro hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. After 51 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Dylan Sarmiento. In the 52nd minute, Niceto Jerano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PATURUZU fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Domingos Nerio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Miralles in the 57th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in PATURUZU's zone, Isidoro Sarmiento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Domingos Nerio came out of the goal and Isidoro Sarmiento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jimeno Martino in the 63rd minute of play. Uriel Eneko kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 66thth minute of the game Tomas Berganza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PATURUZU's Domingos Nerio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Jimeno Martino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. When PATURUZU's Jimeno Martino in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Panama's goalie prevented a goal. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domingos Nerio having to interfere. In the 76th minute Uriel Eneko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jimeno Martino in the 78th minute of the match. Basilio Francesco hit a great ball. After 94 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Miralles. Niceto Jerano took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcos Cotilla. Panama's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Panama's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
